The flesh on my finger is not thick. Relatively-speaking, because my nails are long, my nails come in contact with the fingerboard of the string instruments, and I cannot press down on the string well.
Also, if I press down on the string, sometimes the flesh between my finger and the nail cracks open and bleed.
Consequently, I gave up the string instrument.
