「How about this sentence?」と言います。このような状況では通じるかもしれませんが、「理解できる？」を追加すれば、もっと詳しくできます。
そうすれば、「Can you understand this sentence?」になります。
「じゃあ、」の場合では「Okay then,」と言う英語の決まり文句を使いましょう。

このシチュエーションで、相手は「How about this sentence?」と理解できなかったら、その代わりに「I see, what about this other sentence?」と言えます。
もし、「貴方は前の文は理解できなかったので、この文はどう？」と言いたいなら、「Since you didn't understand my other sentence, what about this other one?」でも言えます。
「じゃあ、この文は理解できる」は英訳すると「Are you able to understand this sentence better?」になります。
