「必答問題、選択問題」は英語で「Questions that must be answered, と言えます。
最初の「Questions that must be answered, question can be answered as you like」は「必ず解く問題」という意味です。
そして、「question can be answered as you like」は「好きなものを選んで」という意味です。

テストにはみんなが必ず解く問題と、好きなものを選んで解く問題がありますが、その２つの区別をrequired, optionalで表現しましたが、
アメリカ育った自分の見た限りでは「選択問題」は五つの中で三つを選んで解くような形で、話すときに
Was that question one that we had to answer? Or was it one that we could choose to answer?
(その問題は回答しないといけないのでしたか？又は好きに選べられるのでしたか？）
という風に表現することが多いです。
