２つ目の文は間違いではないですが、最後の to do so はなくても良いので、次のように言うと自然です。

「息子に出かけるなと言ったのに、友人たちと出かけて行った」
のように、もう少し情報を足してあげるとより自然な文になりますよ。
次のようにも言えます。
ーI asked my son not to go out with his friends last night, but he went anyway.
「昨夜、息子に友人たちと出かけないように言ったのにもかかわらず、出かけて行った」
