どんなスキルを持った人を採用したいか、と質問するなら、次のように聞くと良いですよ。

ーWhat kind of skills are you looking for when you hire someone?
「誰かを採用するとき、どんなスキルを探していますか？」
to look for で「探す・期待する」
to hire で「雇用する」

ーWhat kind of attributes do you look for in a prospective employee?
「採用候補者にどのような特質を探し求めますか？」
この場合、skills の代わりに attributes「特質・特性」を使っても言えます。
a prospective employee で「採用候補者・内定者」
