寒くなれば寒くなるほど、ベットから出るのがつらくなるって英語でなんて言うの？

The more I do something the moreの形は習ったのですが、形容詞の場合は、どうなりますか？
The more it is cold the more だとおかしいですよね？

Accepted Answer

「〜すればするほど」は比較級+比較級の構文なので、必ずしも the more を使わなければいけないというわけではありません。
この場合は、次のように言うと良いですよ。
ーThe colder it gets, the harder it is for me to get out of bed.
「寒くなればなるほど、ベットから出るのが辛くなる」

または次のようにも言えます。
ーI find it harder to crawl out of bed these days because it just keeps getting colder and colder.
「どんどん寒くなってきているので、ベットから出るのが辛くなってきた」
