別の単語と混同する。って英語でなんて言うの？

英語でよく似てる単語を混同してしまうときに、別の単語と混同して間違えてしまった。
と言いたいです。
I misunderstood it with an another word で合ってますでしょうか？

to get confused で「混同する」

ーI got it mixed up with another word.
「別の単語を混同しちゃった」
to get mixed up で「混同する」とも言えます。
