  • I had played soccer for 10 years.

  • I had played football for 10 years.

例:I played soccer yesterday. (昨日サッカーをした) When I was 5 years old, I played soccer. (5歳のときにサッカーをした<継続してサッカーをしていたかどうかは述べていない>) ご存じかもしれませんが、サッカーのことは、アメリカ英語ではsoccer、イギリス英語ではfootballと言いますね。^^

  • I played soccer for ten years.

I played soccer for ten years. →サッカーを10年間してました。 「過去にサッカーをしていて、今はしてない」 ということでしたら過去形でいいと思います。 「[今でも](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/49575/)続けている」ときには have been ~ing、 『現在完了進行形』でいきましょう。 例) I've been playing baseball for three years now. 野球を始めて3年になります。 I've been playing football since I was 5. 5歳のときからフットボールを[続けて](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/40747/)います。 『過去完了形』ですが、 そこまで使う機会はないと思います。 正直、覚えなくても何とかなるかなと。 『過去形』で代用できることも多いです。 参考にしてください、 ありがとうございました。

  • I quit playing soccer after 10 years.

This is a simple way to say that you used to play soccer but now have given up. You say the length you played it for and that you quit. You can use this phrase for anything else you have quit/given up. "I quit smoking after 5 years" "I plan to quit my job after 15 years"
これは、あなたがサッカーをしていたが、今はあきらめたと言う簡単な表現です。それをやり遂げた長さを言い、それをやめたといいます。このフレーズは、あなたが辞めて/諦めたこと以外にも使用できます。  "I quit smoking after 5 years" 「私は5年間喫煙した後、やめました」 "I plan to quit my job after 15 years" 「私は15年勤めた後、仕事を辞める予定です」

  • I finally stopped playing soccer after 10 years.

  • I played soccer for 10 years.

▪ I finally stopped playing soccer after 10 years. Saying you stopped playing soccer means that you are not playing soccer anymore. The sentence also indicates that you have played soccer for 10 years. ▪ I played soccer for 10 years. Played = play in the past. This sentence indicates that you have payed soccer for 10 years and it clearly indicates that you are not playing soccer anymore.
I finally stopped playing soccer after 10 years. (私は10年続けた、サッカーをやめました) stopped playing soccerと言った場合、あなたはもうサッカーをしていないという意味になります。 同時に、上記の表現ではあなたがサッカーを10年続けたことを示唆しています。 I played soccer for 10 years. Played と言った場合、Playの過去形になります。 こちらの表現ではあなたは10年間サッカーを続けたが、今はもうやめているという意味になります。

  • I played football for ten years.

  • I used to play football for ten years but i have now quit.

  • I am a retired football player.

I played football for ten years. - "Played" is past tense, by using this sentence you show that you used to play in the past. I used to play football for ten years but i have now quit. - By using "used to" you show that it (playing football) happened in the past. I am a retired football player. - This is only really used if the football player is a professional.
I played football for ten years. 私はサッカーを10年間していました。 Playedは過去形です。この表現を使うことであなたは過去にサッカーをしていたことが表せます。 I used to play football for ten years but i have now quit. 私はサッカーを10年していましたが今は辞めています。 used toを使うことで過去にしていたことを表現できます。 I am a retired football player. 私はサッカー選手を引退しました。 これは一般的にはプロのサッカー選手が使うフレーズです。

  • I was a soccer player for 10 years.

  • I played soccer for 10 years and now I am retired.

  • I stopped playing soccer after 10 years.

I made mention of you retiring from soccer because you may use the term whether you played professionally or not. You may also simply say that you no longer play soccer after ten years of playing. It will all suffice. The word "played" indicates that you use to play in the past.
あなたがプロとしてサッカーをしているのかどうかに関わらずこの用語を使うかもしれないので、私はサッカーを引退することについて言及しました。 また10年間プレーした後、ただ単にもうサッカーをしていないというかもしれません。 それで全て十分です。 “played”(プレーした)という言葉が、あなたが過去によくしていたということを表しています。

もし英語で過去によくサッカーをしていたということを伝えたければ、 “In the past, I played football. I played for around ten years, however, I no longer play.” (過去にサッカーをしていて、約10年間していました。しかしながら今ではもうしていません。) ということができます。 役に立つと嬉しいです。 Jemxii 先生

  • I played soccer for 10 years, but not anymore.

  • I used to play football for ten years.

These are both easy ways to get your point across. You are saying, in both instances, that you played soccer for a while but that you do not play it anymore. "football" is another word for soccer. You can use "not anymore" and "used to" for many things that you don't do anymore. For Example: I taught high school English for a few years, but not anymore. I used to love going out and having a blast with Teddy.

  • I played soccer for ten years but not anymore

  • For ten years I played soccer now I don't

  • I used to play soccer for ten years then I quit.

If you want to express that you played soccer for ten years but you don't anymore you can express that in the following ways:- 1. I played soccer for ten years but not anymore. Example sentences:- John: " Do you know how to play soccer, I'm looking for a play mate " Paul : "I plated soccer for ten years but not anymore, " 2. For ten years I played soccer now I don't. Example sentence: - John: " How long did you play soccer for?" Paul:"For ten years I palyed soccer now I don't." 3. I used to play soccer for ten years then I quit. Example sentence:- John: "Do you still play soccer?" Paul "I used to play soccer for ten years then I quit."

  • I used to play soccer for ten years, I don't play anymore though.

Take note that some people around the world refer to soccer as football. Using the phrase "I used to" is referring to something that you did in the past. "For ten years" is used to refer to the amount of time you played soccer for and saying: "I don't play any more though" refers to the fact that you don't play or participate in that sport anymore.

  • I played soccer for 10 years

As you are using the simple past in the above example, there is no need to use 'used to' - as you are explaining both the duration and the past history.

  • I used to play soccer for 10 years.

  • I played soccer for 10 years, but not anymore.

  • I had played soccer for 10 years.

Notice that in the first example, we can use the format of, "used to + verb," to talk about things in the past that we no longer do. This also words similarily with the past perfect of, "had played," because it is showing continuous moments in the past that are now officially completed. Lastly we can also just say, "but not anymore," to have the same effect.
