These are both easy ways to get your point across. You are saying, in both instances, that you played soccer for a while but that you do not play it anymore. "football" is another word for soccer. You can use "not anymore" and "used to" for many things that you don't do anymore. For Example: I taught high school English for a few years, but not anymore. If you want to express that you played soccer for ten years but you don't anymore you can express that in the following ways:- 1. I played soccer for ten years but not anymore.
