"notice" "realize" "aware" these are three different words with very similar meanings.
"I didn't realise you were there!" = I had no knowledge you were there.
" I didn't notice you were there" = I did not see you."
" I wasn't aware you were there" = I had no sensory perception of your presence.
notice, realize, awareは、それぞれ３つとも似たような意味を持ちます。

To notice something is to see, hear or feel something.
To realize something is to know or begin to know something.
Here are some examples.
'The cat noticed the the mouse running across the garden.'
In this sentence the cat sees the mouse, so we use notice.
'I realized that I was lost'
In this sentence the person comes to know that they are lost.
'Aware' is an adjective.
When you realize something you become aware of it.
「To notice something」とは、見たり、聞いたり、感じたりして気付くことです。

猫がネズミに見た（気付いた）ので、noticeを使います。
「I realized that I was lost」は、自分が迷子になったということに気づいたという意味の表現になります。

故意にやってしまったのではない限り、「ごめんなさい（I'm sorry...）」と一方的にあやまるのはやや気が引ける（恐らくは相手も急いで入ってきている／非がある）シチュエーションではないでしょうか。
ここは、相手の無事を確認するべく「大丈夫ですか？（Are you OK?）」と尋ねればよろしいのではないかと思います。

*See-perceive with the eyes; discern visually.

B) oops! my mistake.
*OOPS-used to show recognition of a mistake or minor accident, often as part of an apology.
Example-"Oops! I'm sorry. I just made you miss your bus!"
*Mistake-an act or judgement that is misguided or wrong.
Example-"coming here was a mistake"

This is a tough situation, the best thing to do is to apologize right away and repeatedly. Tell them you are sorry many times, and say something like "I didn't see you" which explains why you let the door close on them.
