A 'little bit' is explained as a small amount of something. A 'bit' is a piece of something, so in effect you are asking for a small piece of the whole amount of rice that has been cooked and is being served.
We also say 'spoonful' to mean a small amount. It is not to be taken literally, so it does not mean just one spoon of rice.
