「口にするもおぞましい」って英語でなんて言うの?

あまりに恐ろしい体験だったので、それについて話す事も憚れるというようなことを言いたい時に使いたいです。

It is good to first state that you don't feel comfortable talking about something, then follow with a good reason why.
何かについて話していて不快を感じる時は最初の表現がよいです。そのあとで適切な理由を付け加えます。

The first example implies you don't want to talk about it at all. The second example states that you don't want to talk about it but because you stated 'now' this could mean you may talk about it later.
最初の例文はそれについて話したくないということを含みます。 2番目の例文はそれについて話したくないが、「now」と言っていたので、後でそれについて話す可能性を意味します。

If it is to scary to talk about- then you cant mention it. If something is "horrible" it is very bad. "I battle to talk about it" means you find it difficult to talk about. "It scarred me" it leave a long lasting bad impression on you.
too scary to talk about なら怖すぎて話すことができないということです。 horribleは状況が悪い時に使います。 I battle to talk about itは話すことが難しいという意味です。 It scard meは後に尾を引くような悪い印象を残しているということを表します。
