表現できるようにしてみませんか？
例えば、雪で「電車／バスが遅れている」のであれば
The train/bus is delayed because of the snow.
のように言うことができますね。
Sorry, but due to snowfall, I will be arriving a little later than usual.
I'm snowed in. I don't know when the road will be clear!
Just to explain the fact that there is snow is probably enough - but you may add as much detail as you like.
Snowfall = snow that has fallen
Snowed in = snow has fallen and I cannot leave or move from this area because of the heavy snow.

We use "late" when something does not happen on time or it's usual time.
"I am running late, due to the heavy snow."
