The entrance to anywhere is usually defined by the place in which it is built. For example, if it is an arch in the perimeter wall of a house, it would be called, the 'garden entrance,' or 'estate entrance' if it is a large property. If the arch forms part of a building, it would be the 'builing entrance.' It may also be called 'a gate' of course - even though there is not actually a physical gate across the entrance, For example, the famous Brandenberg Gate in Berlin has no physical gate (although it marks where there once was a city gate).
Unless the entrance has a gate, we would use only 'entrance'. If there is an arch over the entrance we say 'archway'. We also use 'pathway' for a path leading to an entrance. You do find arches in homes but as they aren't very big or wide, we would normally just say arch.
An entrance is where you enter a place/building to start your journey this is a general term and can have a gate/arch/door it is still the same word used
If it has an arch then we simply call this an 'archway' this descrbes the shape and design of the entrance
"Archway" - This is something that is typically outside, and in the form of a half-circle. Many people will refer to some canyon archways as an archway. And, in many cases, an archway can be seen with bridges that also have that curve in them.
"Doorway." - A doorway is the side panelling of where a door should go. It does not need to have a door to be called a doorway, as many people will say, "she stood infront of the doorway."
"Archway"(アーチ道)
- これは普通野外にあり半円形の形をしています。岩のアーチ道のことは "Archway" と呼ばれることが多いです。"Archway" が橋を成していることも多くあります。
"Doorway"(出入り口)
- "Doorway" とは扉をはめ込む穴をいいます。これは扉が付いていなくても "Doorway" と呼ばれます、例えばよく次のように言います。
"She stood in front of the doorway."
(彼女は戸口の前に立ちました)
If there is no door then it is not really a door, gate etc. You could call this an archway or doorway. By adding 'way' onto the end it shows that it is a way through but there is no door as a barrier. You could also use the term 'passageway' but this is more likely used to describe the passage from one end of a building to the other, for example. You could also simply say entrance (or exit, if you are leaving).
