Webレッスンを受けていて、レッスン時間が少し残ったとき"残った時間は(フリートークではなく)次のレッスンに進めたい"と伝えたいです。
何となく、以下のような感じで伝えているのですがあっているでしょうか?(より適切な言い回しがあるでしょうか?)
Can I proceed to the next lesson?
The teacher is most likely to ask you what you'd like to do next (after you have finished the material). You can reply with either of these two phrases. Go to and move onto have the same meaning and both are completely natural so choose whichever suits you!
Rather than having free conversation, I would like to begin the next lesson.
Rather than is a conjunction. It is another way to say "instead of", meaning that you prefer one thing over another. In this case you prefer starting the next lesson instead of having free conversation. When using "rather than" in a sentence, the thing that you do not prefer will follow "rather than" in the sentence. After the comma, in the second part of the sentence, is where your preference is stated. Another example is: Rather than going to the beach, I would like to go to the movies. You prefer going to the movies instead of going to the beach.
Rather thanは接続詞です。"instead of"の別の言い方で、一つのものより別のものを好むことを意味しています。質問者様の例では、フリートークではなく次のレッスンを始めたいという意味になります。"rather than"を文中で使う場合には、好まない方のものを"rather than"の後に持ってきます。カンマの後、文の後半にあなたの希望を述べます。
以下は別の例です。
Rather than going to the beach, I would like to go to the movies.
ビーチに行く代わりに映画に行きたいことを伝えています。

This means that you do not want to do free conversation but would like to do another lesson material.
For example:

Teacher: Okay sure. What would you like us to do?
You: Can we do Lesson 10 please, "Finding directions."

(レッスン10"Finding directions."をできますか?)
I'd like to move on to the next lesson instead of free conversation.
Whenever you finish an online lesson early, you the student has the choice of whether you want a free conversation or to move on to the next lesson. By using the above statement, you make it clear to the teacher that you prefer to continue with a material based lesson.
I would rather start the next lesson than have free conversation please.
"Can we please start the next lesson?" This politely asks the teacher to start the material for the next lesson.
"I would rather start the next lesson than have a free conversation please." This is another polite way of explaining that you would rather start the next lesson than have a free conversation.

Can we work on a new lesson material (with the remaining time)?
We can use the verbs: to go, to move on or to work on when talking about changing to a new lesson rather than having a free conversation if there is still time in the class. It could be mentioned, "with the remaining time," so the teacher is fully aware that you want to do whatever you can to study with the time.
