日本に初めてくる友達に、うなぎ（鰻・ウナギ）をおすすめしようと思っています。
「日本で食べるうなぎは本当に美味しいよ！」と言いたいのですが、うなぎは英語でなんて言うのかわかりません。

うなぎは Eel です。
日本には現在、中国からのうなぎなども流通していますが、
中国産のうなぎを用いて日本風に料理されることが普通なので、Japanese eel とするより Eel in Japan としましょう。

うなぎは「Eel」といいます。
海外の日本食レストランにおいて、日本のうな丼は「Unadon」や「Unagi Don」のように表記しているところが多いです。
参考になれば嬉しいです。
Unagi is a bit more expensive than other "local" meals and as such it is mainly
reserved for those "Special Occassions"... like anniversaries or birthdays!
It is served ona bed of top quality rice and has an amazing glace on it...
So flavour -filled!

In Japan there are many specialist restaurants serving unagi. In the UK we would probably just refer to it as fresh water eel but would also be more interested in how it is prepared: grilled, raw, marinated, etc
