  • Let me take five for a minute

  • I think I'll go refresh myself for a second

    play icon

  • I'm going to take a short break outside

    play icon

また、take (have) a breakで休憩を取るという表現になります。

Popping out - this means you are going to be quick and will return shortly. catch a 10 minute break - usually, implies it is a quiet time and you are going to have a break while it is quiet. Off duty - means not working. Hope this helps Jane :)

"I need to take a break for a few minutes." To 'take a break' means to rest from work or duty. "I need to recoup for a few minutes," To recoup means to regain something that was lost. You can use this to say that you want to recoup your strength. Example: "I've been working all morning, I need to recoup for ten minutes." Hope this helps :)
"I need to take a break for a few minutes." (少し休憩する必要があるあります) 「take a break休憩する」とは、仕事や義務から離れ休むことです。   "I need to recoup for a few minutes," (私は少しの間、(体力を)回復する必要がある) recoup(回復する)ことは失われたものを取り戻すことを意味します。 これを使って強さ、体力を回復したいと言うことができます。 例: I've been working all morning, I need to recoup for ten minutes. (私は徹夜で働いています。10分間の休憩で(体力を)回復する必要があります。) お役に立てますように:)

  • I'll be back in 10.

    play icon

  • I'm gonna grab a quick break.

    play icon

  • I'm gonna take 10.

    play icon

You can use the phrase "I'll be back in (~)" when you step out of a room either at work or at home. It's pretty casual, so be careful with work superiors. You can also use the word "grab" instead of take. For example, "I'm gonna take a quick break" becomes "I'm gonna grab a quick break." It's also not necessary to say the word "minutes" when you are excusing yourself from a room. In this case, "I'm gonna take 10" would mean "I'm going to take a 10 minute break."
部屋を出る前に"I'll be back in (~)" を使う言葉できます。 カジュアルな言い方なので注意して使いましょう。 takeのかわりに"grab" を使うこともできます。 例えば "I'm gonna take a quick break" は"I'm gonna grab a quick break." になります。 わざわざ部屋を出る前に"minutes"を使う必要はないです。 "I'm gonna take 10" は"I'm going to take a 10 minute break."という意味です。

  • I am taking a 10 minute break.

    play icon

  • I will be back in 10 minutes.

    play icon

  • I will see you in 10 minutes.

    play icon

In the first line, I have used the present participle, I 'am taking' meaning that for the whole 10 minutes, I will be away. In the second line, I have used the future tense, 'will be'. This is because the incidence of coming back will happen in the future, after 10 minutes. In the third line, the future tense has again been used, 'will see'. The incidence of seeing him/her/them will only happen after 10 minutes have elapsed (in the future). So, you may say: I am taking a 10 minute break. or I will be back in 10 minutes. or I will see you in 10 minutes.
最初の”I am taking a 10 minute break.” は文法的には現在進行系を使っており、10分後にはtaking a 10 minute breakの状態ではないということです。 訳:「私は10分休憩をとっています。」 次の”I will be back in 10 minutes.”は、未来形で書いています。これは動詞の出来事が起きるのは10分後の未来の出来事だからです。 訳:「10分後に戻ります。」 最後の、”I will see you in 10 minutes.”も同様に未来形です。 see you (あなたに会う)のは10分後の未来だからです。 訳:「10分後に会いましょう」 なので、3つの内どれでも使えますよ。

The first two are almost the same with the addition of saying that you are going, "to take," a 10 minute break rather than, "going for a 10 minute break." We can also say, "I'll be back after," a break to say that we will return to work after that amount of time.
