田舎はcountryside ですが、都会と地方（田舎）という意味だと、Urban/ruralという言い方をします。日本はJapan、日本の地方は Rural area in Japan、とか、rural Japan
"the population of the senior citizen" ではなくて、''the elderly population", "the senior population", となります。同じ表現が良いのであれば、"the population of the senior citizens" とcitizensが複数です。
Population は日本語では「人口」で、「多い・少ない」という動詞が使われますが、「大きい」「小さい」という表現を英語ではしますので、「人口が縮んでる」The population is shrinking、とか、「人口が増えて（成長して）いる」The population is growing.というように言います。increase/decreaseでも良いです。
"the business is bad"の部分は、ビジネスが badというより経済が badのことだと思うので、 "the economy is bad"、または「地方の会社はうまくいっていない」ということであれば、 "the companies aren't doing well"です。
高齢化社会はAging societyと「アンチエイジング」などでカタカナにもなっている「エイジング」という言葉でも表せます。国全体が「エイジング」なので Japan is an aging country.と言えば、日本は高齢化してる、という意味だとわかります。

laborは、いかにも「労働力」という感じの単語です。
