劇って英語でなんて言うの？

劇やお芝居のことはplayと言います。
劇場のことをtheater (theatre)と言うので、
go to a theaterで、劇/芝居を観に行くという意味を表します。

私は劇/芝居/舞台を観に行くのが好きです。
I like going to theaters (theatres) to watch plays.

「劇が好きなのでよく劇場に行って観劇します。」
“I like plays, so I go watch them at the theatre a lot.”

theatreはイギリス英語やオーストラリア英語で書いていますが、アメリカ英語でtheaterで書いています。

「彼女は劇に出ていた。」
“She acted in the play.”

「劇にする」
“dramatise” (アメリカ英語でdramatize)
“adapt into a play”

「演劇の楽譜が好きだった。」
“I liked the (musical) score of the play."
