現在完了進行形の have s/o been ----ing（もしくは形容詞） を使って、期間を聞くことができます。
2つ目の英訳例は、結婚している人もしくは長い間誰かと一緒に過ごしている人に対しての質問で使えます。
他にも、

など、been ---ingを上記のように用いることもありますよ。

I wrote three sentences which all suits the situation but personally I prefer the first two because they are better because you will get the exact number, whereas, it's not the case with the third one.
We can either directly ask 'how many years have you been married?', we can ask 'when did you get married?' or we can ask if they 'have been married for a long time' - asking the latter should encourage the person we are speaking with to answer our question with the number of years they have been married.
単刀直入に
'how many years have you been married?'（結婚して何年になりますか）
と聞くかあるいは、
'when did you get married?'（いつ結婚されましたか）
または
'have you been married for a long time?'（結婚して長いですか）
という言い方もできます。
最後の 'have you been married for a long time?' は、結婚して何年かを聞き出す質問です。
