opportunities「機会」
reduce the opportunities 「機会が減る」

If alcohol were to be banned in Japan co-workers would have one less chance to socialize with one another outside the workplace.
「もし日本でアルコールが禁止されていたら、職場外で同僚と交流する機会が１つ減るだろう。」
have one less chance to socialize で「交流する機会が一つ減る」
