衣装って英語でなんて言うの？

「This costume looks silly」この衣装は愚かに見える。

「This is the national dress for my country.」これは私の国の民族衣装です。

ハロウィンの衣装であれば、Halloween costume とも言います。

I'm making my Halloween costume!
ハロウィンの衣装を作っています！

衣装は普通に「dress」になりますが、こういうとき、「costume」の方がいいです。

Halloween costume --> costume
もしハロウィンについて話したら、「costume」だけと言えば、ほとんど皆は「Halloween costume」だと分かります。しかし、「costume」は演技用服についても使われているから、その意味もあります。

衣装を作る = make a costume
