「思ったより」というフレーズは便利ですね！
日本語に一番近い英語のフレーズは
~ Than I thought
この公園は思ったより綺麗
This park is prettier than I thought
他の言い方は「~ than I expected」です。この場合は、「[期待](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/54356/)したより」という意味です。でもどちらでも自由に使います。

「より」は大体、英語の「than」という意味です。
A is bigger than B
AはBより大きい
「より」を使うとき、必ず比較語をつけなければいけません。

でも気をつけて下さい。「than」と「then」の発音がほぼ一緒ですが、意味がだいぶ違います。
「then」は順番を説明する言葉です。

美味しいの直訳は「delicious」ですが、アメリカ人はよく「good」を使います。「delicious」は少し丁寧で堅い言葉なのです。

[喜んで](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/52442/)言いたいのなら、もちろん、活気をつけて英語で言ってみてください！「① It was better than I thought!」と！
確かに[現地](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/43378/)のフォーは美味しいですよね。たくさん、霜の降った肉が入っていれば、入っているほど美味しいと思います。

The first example is a pretty straight forward way to express that something tasted better than you thought it would.
In the second example we have the phrase 'exceeded my expectations', meaning that the case was better than you thought it would be, in this case the taste.
We use 'pleasantly suprised' in the same way. When you think something is going to be bad but it is actually good then you can say you was 'pleasantly suprised'.
1つ目の例は、思ったり、美味しいという表現方法です。
2つ目の例にある「exceeded my expectations」とは、思っていたより良い味という意味の表現です。
「pleasantly suprised」も同じ意味で使うことができます。
まずいと思っていたが、実際は美味しかったと言いたい時に「pleasantly suprised」という表現を使うことできます。

という言い方でも、"思ったよりおいしい"の気持ちを表現出来ると思います♪
ここで、形容詞の前にthatを置くと形容詞を強調します。
例)
I did not know he is that old!
（彼がそんなに年が上だとは知らなかった！）
年上とは知っていても、そこまで上とは知らなかった、という表現です。
フォーにしても、おいしいのかもとは思ってたけどここまで美味しいとは。。。という気持ちを表現したいときにthat delicousは使えます！

'so' tasty:

It tasted better than I though it would'. - You did not think the dish would taste very good but it did.
'It has exceeded my expectations'.- It was better than you thought it would be. (exceeded - better than)
'It actually tastes pretty good!' - using ''actually'' shows that you are surprised that it tastes good.
It tasted better than I though it would'. - その料理はあまりおいしくないと思っていたけどおいしかった。
'It has exceeded my expectations'.- 思っていたよりおいしかった。
（exceeded - ～よりも良い）
'It actually tastes pretty good!' - 「actually」は、おいしくて驚いたことを表します。
"This was better than I expected" and "So much better than I thought!"
These two expressions are used when using or trying something for the first time, and not expecting it to be as good as first thought, this is used when you are surprised at the fact of how good it was.
"This was better than I expected" や"So much better than I thought!"は、何かを初めて使ったり、試してみて、思っていたよりも良かったとき、それがよかったことに対してびっくりしたときに使うフレーズです。
I never expected Vietnamese Pho to taste as good as it does.
Vietnamese Pho tastes better than I had expected.
Vietnamese Pho actually tastes great, I never would have thought!
"never judge a book by its cover."
This expression can be used in many different situations to explain that what we see is not always what we think it is.
To explain that Vietnamese Pho tastes better than you would have expected, you may use the sentences above.
You can also say,
"I have learned not to judge Vietnamese Pho by how it looks, it actually tastes amazing!"
"never judge a book by its cover."（見た目で判断してはいけない。）
この表現は、見た目で判断してはいけないことを伝えるのに多くのシチュエーションで使うことができます。
ベトナムのフォーが思っていたよりもおいしかったことを説明するにはこれらの例を使うといいでしょう。
