1) I went on a school trip in June for 4 days from the 12th until the 16th.
上の英文は良いと思います。（答2は長すぎる）

2) I went on a school trip for 4 days and 3 nights from the 12th until the 16th of June.

from the 12th until the 16th of June = 6月12日から15日まで
for 4 days and 3 nights = 3泊4日で
I went on a school trip = 修学旅行に行った

6月12日〜15日の間、4日間の修学旅行に行きました。

four-day と言うと「4日間の」を表すことができます。
形容詞的な用法になります。

for four days のように言うこともできます。
three nights and four days で「3泊4日」を表すことはできますが、日本ほど「〜泊〜日」という言い方はしないかもしれません。
