理事長って英語でなんて言うの？

「理事長」は英語で Chief director Managing director Chairman といいます。 理事長といえば association（団体組織） union（組合） のトップでしょうか。 ちなみに組合代表のことは a union rep といいます。 The chief director was elected by association election. 「組合選挙によって、理事長が選出された。」 Who is the chief director? 「理事長は誰ですか？」 お役に立てば幸いです。

「理事長」は英語でchairman, director, chief directorなどと言えます。この３つの中のニュアンスが少し違います。chairmanは２つの場合に使います。委員会のトップの人はchairmanと呼んで、会議を統括する人もchairmanと呼びます。directorはたいてい部門のトップの人です。chief directorはトップの人の意味でchairmanとほとんど同じの位置があります。この２つはCEOとも呼びます。組合と団体組織と委員会などによって呼び方が違うかもしれません。 例： She is the chairman of the committee. 彼女は委員会の理事長です。 Her job as the director is to organize the union. 彼女は理事長としての仕事は組合を系統立てることです。 He is acting on behalf of the chief director. 彼は理事長の代理です。
