＊ a few words: 一言、手短な挨拶
＊ director: 部長
＊ before: 〜〜の前に
＊ get started: 開始する、始める
＊ on behalf of: 〜〜を代表して
＊ department: 部門
日本語では謙遜して、身内には「さん」をつけませんが、英語では自分の上司にあたる人物などを紹介する場合は Mr. / Ms. / Doctor などと敬称をつける習慣があるのでご注意ください。

and now = 今は
a word = 一言
「次は○○(部長の田中さん）から一言です。」という意味です。
日本語と同じ「一言」(a word)でも "a few words"（二言三言）でもいいんです。発表や会議で本当に「一言」だけ言うわけがない、と皆さんは知ってるはずですから。
