バドミントンの握り方の「サムアップ」ですが、英語でどう言うの？

親指を立ててグリップを持つ握り方ですよね？
それでしたら Thumb grip と言います。Thumb は「親指」、grip は「グリップ・握り方」という意味です。

Thumb grip は backhand grip とも呼ばれています。

例：Place your thumb on top of the grip instead of wrapping it around the handle.
「ハンドルを親指で巻くように握る代わりに、親指をグリップの上に置いてください。」

He only uses the thumb grip for some of his shots.
「彼はサムアップをあるショットの時にしか使わない。」
