ご質問ありがとうございます。 すみませんですが、同じような意味の英語の表現が思い出せませんが、使える英文を提案いたしました。 「あなたはこの業界で常にトップを走り続けている」 You are always at the top of this field. 「そんなことはない。私よりも優秀な人はたくさんいる。周回遅れで、トップを走っているように見えるだけ」 It's not that I'm on top. There are a lot of people who are better than me. I'm just so far behind that it looks like I'm on top. 「It just looks like I'm first when I'm about to be lapped」も使えます。これの方が「周回遅れで、トップに見えるだけ」と最も近いと思います。 ご参考いただければ幸いです。
