"さっきの雨のせい" は英語で
Because of the rain before といえます。
文法的に考えると正しい...とはいえないけど、ちゃんと言いたいことは通じます。
服が濡れてるよ = Your clothes are wet
こういう場合、私は普段言っているのは
(It's) because of the rain
It was raining just now （さっき雨が降ってた）
といいます。
