「自分に起こったことのようにとても嬉しい」＝「自分のことのように嬉しい」

ーI'm so happy for my brother, it feels as though I were the one who got accepted to the university.
「弟のためにとても嬉しいです。まるで私が大学に受かったかのように感じます」
as though で「まるで~かのように」
to get accepted で「合格する・受かる」
