「お手洗いを探しているんです」は英語に訳すと「I am looking for the bathroom」か「I am looking for the restroom」になります。
日本語だとよく「お手洗い」は「トイレ」で呼びます。「トイレ」は英語からの外来語なんですが、英語の「toilet」は「お手洗い」の意味ではなくて「便器」という意味ですので、気をつけましょう。
セミナー等に行ったら、スタフにお手洗いの場所を聞きたい時に、このように聞けば良いです。

In the UK we would ask for toilets or the public conveniences most of the time - rather than restroom, washroom.
In this case there is no need explain that "I am looking for the toilets," although that is a perfectly good question.
However, slighly more direct is: "Where are the toilets please?"Or if you prefer an alternative:
"Where are the public conveniences please?"
イギリスでは多くの場合お手洗いのことを"restroom"または"washroom"よりも"toilets"または"public conveniences"と言います。
この場合は"I am looking for the toilets,"(お手洗いを探しています)と言っても全く問題ではありませんが、特に説明する必要はありません。
もう少し直接的であるのは"Where are the toilets please?"(お手洗いはどこですか？)と質問することです。
または代わりに"Where are the public conveniences please?"(お手洗いはどこですか？)と質問しても良いです。
If you cannot find the way to the restroom, you can ask:
