1. garbled text
「文字化け」のことを「garbled text」と言えます。
「garbled」は「不明瞭な」で、「text」は「文字」という意味で、ひっつけると「文字化け」という意味をとります。
2. text that isn't displaying properly
「正しく表示されない文字」という意味を表す文です。
ちなみに、調べてみたら、Wikipediaに乗っているのは、そのまま「mojibake」です。
ですので、おそらく「文字化け」をローマ字にした「mojibake」も普通に使えるかもしれません。
