「～を温かくもてなす」という言い方は、

「welcome/treat 人 with hospitality」

で表現できます。

「人をもてなす」ときの英語は treat/ welcome などを使います。
「もてなしてくれた／とてもよくしてくれた」という意味で they treated me very well にしました。

「I have been」は「～に行ったことがある」という意味なので、この場合は went を使います。
