左のイヤホンからの聞こえが悪い。（よく聞こえない）
・(It) seems like my left earphone is not working well.
左のイヤホンの調子が悪いようだ。
work は「うまくいく、調子がいい、ちゃんと機能する」などの意味があるので以上のような表現もできます。
・I'm trying to decide if I should get new earphones.
新しいイヤホンを買うべきか迷っている。
trying to decide で「〜するべきかどうか決めようとしている」よって「〜するべきか迷っている」という表現になります。
