・「teammate」
＝チームメイト（スポーツチームの同期）
（例文）My teammates are friendly.
（訳）私のチームメイトはフレンドリーです。
・「classmate」
＝クラスメイト（学校の同級生）
（例文）He was a classmate from elementary school.
（訳）彼は小学校の同級生でした。

「私たちは一緒に高校野球のチームに入っていた」
"we played baseball together in high school"
「私たちは一緒に野球をやっていた」
"we went to middle school together"
「私たちは一緒の中学校に行っていた」
"we were in the same grade in middle school" 「私たちは中学校の同級生」
"middle" の代わりに "high" や elementary" なども使えます。
"we used to work together at 〇〇"
「〇〇会社で会社同期でした」
同じクラスの同級生でしたら classmateになります。クラスが違うけど、同じ学校でしたら my friend from my school などになります。

B: This is Tom from my school. / This is Tom. We go to the same school. / This is Tom, we go to school together.
高校野球部の同期 - My baseball teammate from high school。同期は同じタイミングで入るという意味なので、英語と少し違います。Teammateなので、同じタイミングでチームや部に入ったかもしれませんがそうとは限らないです。
This is Tom my friend that I met when I joined the baseball club. We joined the club at the same time.
会社同期 - My colleague/friend from work (同僚) 。同じタイミングで入社したという意味はありません。
This is my colleague/friend from work. We met during training もしくは We started working for the company at the same timeなどになると思います。
英語だと「同じタイミングで入る」ことは気にしないと思います。結果としては同じ会社で働いているので、 colleague (同僚) 、同じチームや部なので (teammate)になると思います。
