つたないですが私の英文です。「〇〇なのに」はどうやって表現すればいいですか？

この場合、It's a shame ... で「勿体無い」と言えます。

「彼は日本に住んでいるのに日本語を勉強しない。もったいない！」
What a wasted opportunity!「なんという好機の無駄なんだ」＝「もったいない」とも言えます。
