  • How much longer will it be?

How much longer will it be? How long do we have to wait?

  • Excuse me, I have been waiting a while now. How much longer do I have to wait?

  • Any idea how much longer the wait is?

  • How long will my food be?

Excuse me, I have been waiting a while now. How much longer do I have to wait? - first explain that you have already been waiting a while (some time). Then you can ask how much longer (how much more time) you will have to wait Any idea how much longer the wait is? -This is a good way of asking if the waiter/waitress has 'any idea' of how long the wait is. How long will my food be? - this is a more direct way of asking how long you will have to wait for your food and is probably the best way of getting an answer.
Excuse me, I have been waiting a while now. How much longer do I have to wait? Any idea how much longer the wait is? How long will my food be?

  • Please tell me just how much longer I have to wait for my order?

  • I am starving. How much longer do I have to wait?

In the first question, you are being very direct.. You would like the waiter to tell you just how much longer you have to wait for you order. The adverb 'just' has been added to the question to mean 'exactly'. It is the same as asking: Please tell me exactly how much longer I have to wait for my order? In the second question, you have added an appeal: I am starving. This is to indicate just how desperate you are for your food. It adds some form of urgency to he question: How much longer will I have to wait?
IPlease tell me exactly how much longer I have to wait for my order? How much longer will I have to wait?
