上の三つの文章はすべては 気分がいつも同じではなく良く変わるいい気分になったり悪い気分になったりと言う意味を表します。
- "The boss can be fickle" 「上司は気分にムラがある」
"fickle" 「気分にムラがある」
- ”The boss has mood swings."
"has mood swings"「気分が激しく変わる」
- The boss's moods are a bit up and down."
"the boss's moods" 「上司の気分」
"are a bit up and down" 「上がったり下がったりする」
いろいろな言い方ができますが、次のように言うと良いでしょう。
ーMy boss is often quite moody.
「上司はよく気分が変わりやすい」＝「気分にムラがある」
ーMy boss's moods are always changing.
「上司の気分はいつも変わる」＝「気分にムラがある」
ーMy boss is always so up and down in his temperament, one moment he's nice and friendly and the next moment he's chewing you out for something.
「上司はいつも気性が上下する。とても友好的かと思ったら、次の瞬間には怒鳴ってくる」
My boss is always so up and down in his temperament で「気分にムラがある」とも言えますね。
