実はこれはすごく多い間違いなのですが
基本「4th grade」は確かに4年生ですが小学校の4年生になります。
よって大学なのであれば
4th year in University
もしくは
4th year in 6 year school
となります。
ちなみに4年制大学は
Freshman
Sophomore
Junior
Senior
となります。
I'm in my fourth year of a six year university course
I've done 4 years and have 2 more before graduation.
I've done 4 years = I've completed 4 years
I have 2 more to go = Two more years before completing the course.
The listener may add the two together to appreciate the course is 6 years long in its entirety
I've done 4 years =私は4年を完了した
I have 2 more to go =（コースを）修了するまでに2年ある。
聞き手は、合計でコースが6年であることを理解することができるでしょう。
I am doing a six-year degree course and I am in my 4th year.
I am in the 4th year of a six-year degree course.
In the first sentence, you are actually saying that the whole degree course, will take you six years to complete. However, you are currently in your fourth year and you have two more years to go.
In the second sentence, you have started by stating that you are currently in the fourth year of a six-year degree course at this university, which means that you still have to do two more years to complete your degree.
I'm on my 4th year out of school out of the 6 years I need to do.
The course I am taking takes a total of 6 years to complete and I am currently on my 4th year.
If you would like to tell someone that you have completed 4 out of the 6 years of college, you can say something like "I have completed 4 out of the 6 years I need to do for college/university." or The course I am taking takes a total of 6 years to complete and I am currently on my 4th year." These are some easy ways to express this to someone.
