I didn't see anybody there, so I thought I got the locations mixed up.
この場合は、次のように言えますよ。
ーThere was nobody there, so I thought I was in the wrong place.
「誰もいなかったから、場所を間違えたかと思った」
I thought I was in the wrong place. で「場所を間違えたかと思った」と言います。
ーI didn't see anybody there, so I thought I got the locations mixed up.
「誰もいなかったので、場所を間違えたかと思った」
I thought I got the locations mixed up. でも「場所を間違えたかと思った」と言えます。
