食事をおごってもらった時のお礼としての「ご馳走さまでした」って英語でなんて言うの?

上司にご飯をおごってもらった時に「ごちそうさまでした」と丁寧に伝えたい時はどう表現したら良いのでしょうか?

お食事をおごってもらった時はお礼を言うのが丁寧なのは、日本もそうだし、西洋の文化も同じです。 「ご馳走様」の直訳はありませんが、同じ意味の言葉はあります: 「① Thank you very much for the meal. It was great.」=([ご馳走様でした](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/238/)。[美味しかったです](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/40329/))。「It was great.」

↓ Thanks for the meal. 簡単ですね。より丁寧に表現する場合、以下など使えます。 ↓ Thank you so much for the splendid meal. That was a wonderful meal. Thank you so much. That was a lovely lunch/dinner. I'm truly grateful. また、食事ではなく、バーやパブなどで飲んでいる場合、 相手が上司であっても、飲み物を交互におごり合うことがよくあります。 ↓ Thanks. I'll buy the next round.

Americans and other English speakers aren't typically expressive in conveying thanks for a meal. They may say something like thanks/thank you for the treat, meal, your kindness, etc. One can also use an adverb like really to emphasize the amount of gratitude you have for the host. However, it's considered even more thoughtful to write a thank you card.
アメリカ人や他の英語話者は、食事のお礼を口に出すことはそんなにありません。 ご馳走になったこと、食事、親切な行為等に対して”ありがとう”のようなことを言うかもしれません。 ホストに対して感謝の気持ちを強調するために、”really”(本当に)という副詞を好むこともあります。 しかし、サンキューカードを書いたほうがより心がこもっていると考えられます。

You should not be overly thankful as it may embarrass the person who paid. Just a short thanks you and possibly an offer to pay next time if you wish to say that.
オーバーに感謝の気持ちを伝えるのは、逆に相手に失礼に当たる場合があります。短い感謝の言葉で、もし可能なら次回は自分が払うと言っても良いでしょうね。

In the U.S. when someone treats you to dinner it is common to say thanks then state that for the next time you will buy the meal. For example: Thanks for treating. Next time it's my treat. Thank you for treating me to dinner/lunch. Thanks for buying dinner.
アメリカでは誰かに夕食をご馳走してもらったらお礼を言った後に次は自分がご馳走する旨をよく伝えます。 例文: Thanks for treating. Next time it's my treat. ご馳走してくれてありがとうございます。次回は私がご馳走します。 Thank you for treating me to dinner/lunch. 夕食/昼食をご馳走してくれてありがとうございます。 Thanks for buying dinner. 夕食をご馳走してくれてありがとうございます。

1. Thank you for the meal. It was delicious. 「食事ありがとうございました。とても美味しかったです」という意味のフレーズです。 delicious は「とても美味しい」という意味です。 2. Thanks for the meal. 「食事ありがとう」の意味のフレーズです。 おごってくれてありがとう、のニュアンスで使うことができます。 Thank you より Thanks の方が少しカジュアルです。

It is common courtesy to express thanks in a vocal manner , whenever we are "treated" to any experience ... where someone else picks up the bill/tab ;-D We could use any number of expressions...Its best to keep it simple & to the point! "Thank you so much for a delicious meal...what a treat!"
他の人にご馳走になった場合はどんな時であれ、口頭でお礼を言うのが礼儀です。様々な表現を使うことが出来ますが、シンプルで要領を得た表現が一番良いです。 例文 "Thank you so much for a delicious meal...what a treat!" おいしい食事を本当にありがとうございました。なんてごちそうなんでしょう!

The adjective 'delicious' means 'highly pleasant to the taste' .So, you may say: Thank you very much for the delicious. meal In the second sentence, the adverb 'really' was used. 'Really' means 'genuinely or truly'. So, before thanking him/her, you started by explaining just how much you enjoyed the meal. You may say: I really enjoyed that meal. Thank you very much. The phrasal verb 'treat someone to' was used in the third sentence. 'Treat someone to' means to 'provide someone with (food, drink, or entertainment) at one's own expense'. So, you may say: That was a great meal you 'treated me to'. Thank you very much.
"delicious ”という形容詞は、”味がとても良い”という意味です。ですからこう言うことができます。 例文 Thank you very much for the delicious. meal 美味しい食事をありがとうございました。 2番めの文で”really”という副詞が使われています。”really”は”心から、本当に”という意味です。 ですから上司にお礼を言う前に、どれくらい食事を楽しんで食べたかを説明することから始めます。こう言うことができます。 例文 I really enjoyed that meal. Thank you very much. 本当に食事を美味しく頂きました。どうもありがとうございました。 3番目の文で”treat someone to”というフレーズが使われています。 ”treat someone to”は”自腹で(食べ物、飲み物、映画等の娯楽)を人に与える”ということです。ですからこう言うことができます。 例文 That was a great meal you 'treated me to'. Thank you very much. ごちそうして下さった食事は素晴らしかったです。どうもありがとうございました。
