今回の英訳例では「かな〜」の部分を考慮して「かもしれない」を表す may の過去形 might を使いました。助動詞を過去形にすることによって控えめな表現にしますが、今回の場合ですと、ただ「かもしれない」というのではなく「かな〜。どうだろ。分からないけど」というニュアンスがあるように思ったので、might を選びました。
・1泊する
stay overnight で「1泊する」を表しますが、これに注意が必要です。overnight で1単語ですので、over と night の2単語に分けてはいけません。overnight 単独では「一晩中」という副詞の意味があります。
また形容詞で使った場合には「一晩中の、夜通しの」という意味があり「夜行列車」を表す英語の overnight train に使われます。
・日帰り
英訳例では「日帰り」とは言っていません。stay for the day で「その日のためだけに滞在する」という意味で、つまり「その日の夜には帰る。その翌日にはそこにいない」という意味を醸し出します。
さらに、just make it a day trip のように「（直訳）それを日帰り旅行に作る」＝「それを日帰り旅行にする」ということもできます。
