この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。

A: Aren't you going back to Japan this summer?
「この夏、日本に帰らないの？」
B: I went back home for a month at the end of last year, so I'm not going home this summer.
「去年の暮れに1ヶ月家に帰ったから、この夏は帰らないよ」

または次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーI was just back home for a month at the end of last year, so I'm staying here this summer.
「去年の暮れに帰国したばかりだから、この夏はここにいるよ」
