この場合、次のような言い方をすると良いでしょう。

・make sure to cover ... でも間違いではないですが、make sure you cover ... とした方が自然です。
・ゴミ袋は複数あるはずですので、複数形にしましょう。
・to hunt だとまだゴミを探している過程のニュアンスがあり、ここでは（ネットを掛けるということは）カラスはすでにゴミの場所を知っていると思うので、to get into を使うと良いでしょう。
to try to get into it で「（ゴミを）漁ろうとする」
