to shortchange で「釣り銭を誤魔化す」
ーI think that sales person was trying to cheat on the price of the fridge he was trying to sell me.
「あの店員は私に売ろうとしていた冷蔵庫の金額を誤魔化そうとしていたと思う」
to cheat on the price of something で「何かの金額を誤魔化す」と言えます。
