他に使われている表現を紹介しますね。
「前妻」は基本的にex-wifeが使われることが多いですが、ときどき省略したexしか使わないこともあります。
例) She is my ex.
ただし、このexのは「元彼女」「元奥さん」、どちらのニュアンスもあるので、はっきり言いたい時にex-girlfriendやex-wifeを使うべきだと思います。
また、formerという「元の~」の表現もあります。パターンはほぼ同じです。
例) She is my former wife.
ちなみに、「結婚していましたよ」というのは、We were married.となります。

Was= past tense and indicating that is does not exist now.
▪ I was married to her.
Was= past tense and indicating that is does not exist now.
▪ We got divorced a few years ago.
Divorced= legally dissolve one's marriage with someone

You: She was my wife.

Friend: Look there is Bella walking.
You: I was married to her.

Was= 過去形で、今は存在しないことを暗示している。
▪ I was married to her.
Was= 過去形で、今は存在しないことを暗示している。
▪ We got divorced a few years ago.
Divorced= 法律上誰かとの結婚を解消すること

You: She was my wife.
ー彼女は元妻です。

You: I was married to her.
ー彼女と以前結婚してました。
Ex-wife ----> a former wife
----> ex- is added to nouns to show that someone or something is no longer the thing referred to by that noun. For example, a someone's ex-husband is no longer their husband.

Ex-wife ----> 以前の妻
----> ex-が、何かや誰かがもはやその名詞によって言われているものではないことを示すために名詞に足されています。
例えば、誰かのex-husbandは、もはやその人の夫ではない。

ー彼の元妻にできる一番良いことは彼女が仕事を見つける必要があると伝えることですか？

"She and I used to be married." can be used to state that a woman and another person were at one time married but not anymore. You can call the person who was your wife an "ex-wife"
"She and I used to be married."
彼女と私はかつては結婚していた。
これは、ある女性とある人があるとき結婚していたが、今はそうではないことを伝えるのに使うことができます。また前の奥さんのことを "ex-wife"と言うこともできます。
