聞いて聞いて！！
直訳すると「何があったかあててみて」
話す前でも、話しながら「[何があったと思う？](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/53728/)」
とこれから話すことの[注目を集める](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/60612/)ために使われます。
例えば
Hey, you know what? Today, my teacher was late and said nothing.
ねーねー聞いて！今日先生遅刻してきたのに謝りもしなかったの。
Hey guys, Guess what? Tommy broke up with Gina.
なーみんな、聞いてくれよ！トミーとジーナが別れたんだって！

シンプルに Listen とだけ言うこともできます。
Hey, listen. と hey をつけて言うことも多いです。

他に Guess what? もよく使います。直訳は「なんだと思う？」「何か[当てて](https://eikaiwa.dmm.com/uknow/questions/20980/)」ですが、ニュアンスとしては「聞いて」に近いです。

ねえ聞いて。昨日公園に行ったんだけどね…
両方をあわせて使うこともできます。

I have something to tell you.- This sounds like it's a serious story and the person you want to tell may be a bit puzzled. People usually associate this statement with bad news.
So here is a story.......- This sounds like you are going to tell them a juicy story or start gossiping.

"So the other day.." , "You'll never guess what happened the other day.." are good ways to start a story and get your listener's attention from the onset.
"I went to..."
This is a more direct way to tell the story but getting to the point from the onset and hoping your reader's attention will be maintained.You could then rely on natural and dramatic pauses to get their attention.
"So the other day.."や"You'll never guess what happened the other day.." は、話を始めたり、聞き手の注目を得るのによい表現です。
