「～の卵」はcandidateを使って表現できます。
candidateは「候補者」以外に「予備軍」
「～になりそうな人」という意味があります。
（良い意味にも悪い意味にも使われます。）

「医者の卵」です。

medical studentで「医学生」という意味ですが、彼らは医者になるために日々勉強しているわけですから、医者の卵の意味合いで用いても良いと思います。

他にも、
doctor-in-training「訓練中の医者」
medical intern「医療インターン」
などの表現もあり、つまり「研修医」であることを伝えられても良いのではないでしょうか。

There is a little difference between these two sentences. The first one admits from the beginning that the person in studying, whereas, the second one says "she is studying" but it's not clear where (maybe in high school she studying biology more than others)
この二つの文には少し違いがあります。
一つ目の文は「彼は医大生である」と伝えています。
二つ目の文では "she is studying"（彼女は勉強している）と言っていますが、どこで勉強しているかは不明です（あるいは、高校で生物学を熱心に勉強しているということかもしれません）。
