レッスンで、late bloomer＝「遅咲きの人」という表現を知りました。
日本語と全く同じ比喩を使うのが面白いと思って、There is a similar expression in Japanese.と言ったところ、先生に「どんな言語にもsimilar expressionはある。何が面白いの？」と（おそらく）言われました。
説明に失敗したようですが、どう言えばよかったのでしょう？
