以下のフレーズはネイティブがよく使います。両方とも、一度相手の立場に立ってみれば？という意味になります。
Why don't you put yourself in their shoes?
（相手の靴を履いてみたら？）
Why don't you try walking a mile in their shoes?
（相手の靴で１マイルを歩いてみたら？）
この場合、次のような言い方ができますよ。
ーTry to put yourself in other people's shoes.
「相手の身になってみなよ」
to put yourself in one's shoes で「相手の身になる」
ーTry to think about other people's perspective.
「相手の立場で考えてみなよ」
to think about someone's perspective で「人の立場になって考える」
