拙い英語でも一生懸命聞いてくれたって英語でなんて言うの?

あまり英語が得意ではないが、外国の友達が自分の話す言葉を一生懸命聞いているときのシチュエーションです。

色々な言葉は使えますが、この文脈で「拙い」は "poor" で一番簡単と自然に英訳出来ます。 「一生懸命聞いてくれた」というのを "listened to me patiently" (文字通りですと「私を忍耐強く聞いてくれた」を意味します。 又は "did their best to listen to me patiently" 「私に頑張って忍耐強く耳を傾けてくれた」 "in spite of" は「にも関わらず」を意味します。 ご参考になれば幸いです。

Despiteは「けれども」という意味です。「拙い」はpoor abilityの意味です。Abilityは能力の意味があるので、poor abilityは「下手な英語の能力」になっています。この表現は少し直訳なので、次の表現の方が自然です。 My friend patiently listened to meは「友達がゆっくり聞いてくれて」という意味です。I couldn’t speak Englishの方が会話的な言い方です。
